Specs: Windows 7, 1GB
I tried to formate a laptop but failed, it displays a message saying "Windows Error Recovery startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. Launch Startup Repair or Start windows Normally"
Both I tried but didn't work, even I tried to install new OS but it display the same message.

With the Windows 7 DVD you can select Drive options (advanced) and delete partition(s) which will wipe everything and let Windows 7 format the disk before beginning the installation. All described here

Before you try that you need to know how your computer is supposed to allow you to recover it.

Each maker of computer tends to offer some of a few ways. Simple as booting to a F key or you may have to make disks or you may have to order disks.

Be sure to run memory diagnostics too.

Hang up and live.

What exactly do you want to do & what type of Win7 disc are you using? Do you have a Toshiba disc or a M$ retail copy? Do you want to wipe out ALL partitions & data, then start completely from scratch with a fresh install? Do you have copies of all the device drivers & software?
