Specs: Windows 7
how to find tools in windows 7

I do not see a "Tools" selection on my Toolbar for Windows 7, and I need it to work through some problems with my IP in Windows Outlook, my primary e-mail program.

Can someone help me with simple, straight-forward instructions please, as no "tech-head" am I! Thanks.

What sort of 'tools' did you want to use? I suspect you may be referring to a piece of software that you had on a previous computer, as Win7, & previous versions all have tools but they don't appear as a toolbar as standard, they are all within the system.

Nope, I'm referring to the "tools" tab or bar that's been on EVERY version of Windows I've owned, heretofore. You click on it and you get a drop-down menu - Not on Windows 7 that I can see.

But *which* tools?

You seem to imply some kind of networking tools, and I don't know
enough about networking to answer questions on that subject, but I
can find any program on my computer if I know what I'm looking for.

There are search tools, disk management tools, resource monitoring
tools, event logging tools -- all sorts of stuff. Describe what you are
looking for.

OK, assume I'm totally in the dark as to which toolbar you are talking about in previous versions, Where, exactly was the toolbar? On the main desktop? if so where? If it was within Explorer or whatever, again, where exactly do you mean?.

The 'built-in' toolbars which come with Windows, along the bottom of the desktop, are still there, just right-click the bottom of your desktop and choose 'toolbars' - you can choose/create your own from there. After that, I'm struggling a bit to see exactly what you mean.

what the poster probably means is that he is using IE and there are no file, edit, view, favorites, tools and help at the top.

dtapster,
Just right click on a blank spot at the top of IE and put a checkmark into menu....that will give you all the menu items including tools....is that what you are looking for?
