Cannot create System Repair Disc

Specs: Windows 7, 3.008 GHz / 4047 MB
I searched all over the internet and everyone says to simply insert the Windows 7 disc and all is fine... well some of us bought laptops with Windows 7 installed already and without the disc, I wonder why no one thought about that... This is the message I receive when I try to create a system disc:

windows 7 system repair disc cannot be created (0x80070057)

I use Windows 7 64bit on HP G72-B60US laptop. The DVD burner works for sure as I burn CDs and DVDs all the time.

HP comes with a restore partition.
Assuming you have not Fdisked it away

Press the power button to start the HP. Press and hold the F11 key to launch the HP Recovery Manager from the recovery partition.

Yeah but that will restore all default settings and erase everything I have done to my computer? The point is to be able to restore my last custom backup.

Withing the HP restore manager, you can plug in a USB device and backup all your documents.

I would recommend that you backup your important files all the time.

you can download a repair disk from here, once you have burned it to disk or usb, then set your laptop to boot from the device your using and run the repair/system restore.
