cannot connect to internet explorer have sururity or blocked

Specs: Windows 7
have a dell xps cannot get internet have an error ox8007042c
i cannot connect to the internet and have a sucurity problem i have tried everything trouble shooting is not helping. i have a networking on it and that is what it is saying i don't have. they say they can't find DNS? I have two computers and this one works fine. i am on tds.net and they came out and said they didn't know what the problem was. he told me he thought i needed a new networking card. the light is suppose to be green and it was orange in back of computer. i have windows and everything is fine. i cannot get on the internet or open explorer .
i would appreciate it if you can tell me what the problem is or tell me what to do. thank you so much.. i have Windows 7.

Use the edit feature on the above post and remove your email address unless you enjoy getting slammed.

Look in device manager, if your NIC shows a warning then tell device manager to uninstall it, download the latest drivers for it for your machine from the machine manufacturer's website and install that. Then restart the machine to fully detect and install it with the new driver.
If it does not show a problem then it might be an infection so run Malwarebytes (if needed download on another machine and transfer the installer with a flash drive), and run it. Remove all it finds and try again.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

On both bad and good computers run the command line command ipconfig /all


Compare the two.

Also look at the command nslookup www.google.com
On both of them they should return an ip address. If you believe the dns is the issue alone based on the result of ipconfig then correct the dns ip in the network card settings or see why you don't get it automatically from dhcp.
