can someone please help? i have windows 7

Specs: Windows XP, emachines
i have a windows 7 download disc. but it says that i need a installation disc. i have the installation disc from the original os but when i ran it there was nowhere that i seen to install windows 7. do i need something more for me to put windows 7 on my computer.

What you need is a legal Windows 7 installation disk that you purchased. Boot from the DVD and follow the instructions.

is it not legal. i got it from my school. its a website through my school.

If they have an Enterprise edition (is MS still doing that?) they may be able to allow you to install on their license, but you will have to print out their instructions and follow it exactly, or visit their computer support center for help.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.

is this a student edition that you have bought and downloaded via the schools technet account.?
if so it would appear that you have not created the dvd correctly, you could download again and create a boot usb using the microsoft create a bootable usb tool http://store.microsoft.com/help/iso...

i hate computers!
