Specs: Windows 7, ATOM N455 1.66Mhz/2MB
I replaced the 16GB SSD on my Viewsonic Tablet to 64GB, I cannot use the included Windows 7 Recovery CD. The Recovery Error is the the BCD on SYSTEM partition is missing. Does anyone have a solution?

Each vendor makes different recover media. It may be that the disk needed some info off the old drive.

I don't know why booting to the dvd would cause a bcd issue.

Hang up and live.

"BCD on SYSTEM partition is missing"

It's on the old HDD.

But to say that bcd is missing is saying that some OS is being loaded.

I'd doubt a recovery CD could could to return the system to OEM state. If it is a cd then I'd assume it needs some data off the old drive to recover with. Normally a DVD or two are used that would have the full data needed.

Might be able to use a clone software to clone the old systems data to the new drive. It gets pretty tricky to do this with some companies media.

Hang up and live.
