hi,
I am guessing that you have already checked to see of they were in the Recycle Bin but just in case I’d look there first. If they are in the recycle bin all you need to do is restore them. If the recycle bin was emptied then unless you have backed up your personal files you might not be able to get them back. You can try a system restore to a point before you made the changes but generally this does not restore personal files.

Reset shouldn't have lost Favorites, so maybe they are elsewhere.

See this:

By the way, you are in the Windows 7 forum yet your spec says XP. which is it? I don't think Favorites are in the same place for both systems.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

From what I read, it is not supposed to loose them, but they are probably gone unless he has a back up set up on the system. You should ask him or whoever set up the system for him, or check Windows 7 Back Up. If there is a back up available, I am pretty sure that it allows you selective restoring so you should be able to just select file you need and internet explorer favorites should be there by default.
