Specs: ?
I replaced a word file , while trying to open it on my USB. Can I be recovered . I am a novice and need to submit in a day. I have no other back up not very clever

For the future... usb sticks/flash drives are not generally the best to save important files on... Either save them to a cd/dvd and/or to an external hard drive if possible. The usb stick is more a temporary store, more useful really when transporting a file with you.

And of course a copy on the computer's hard drive too. But again - "always" have a copy off the system entirely (cd/dvd at least) and preferably not just on a usb stick...
