Specs: Windows Vista
could a relative (with my permission) use his computer at my house? He does not have a connection in his own house as yet so would like to use my broadband if it would be safe to do so.

It's entirely up to you. As long as you are happy that he is not doing anything he shouldn't there is no problem.

On his computer you just have to find your network then input your pass phrase (key) and off you go. Another time it should only be necessary to select the network.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

my sister lives next door to me. I asked her Internet Service Provider if it was OK to use her Internet from my house. The said it was OK as long as she didn't care or mine giving me her key number (passphrase) I bought an Extender that works with my wi fi.
The only problem is their can't be anyting in between or houses to block the signal. I put the Extender on my front porch and the Ethernet cable going through my wall to my computer should not be any longer than 10 ft. Not in use now. If needed I'll use some day.
