I don't think this is really an email issue. You should be able to double click the files and open them. Until this happens you will have the email problem too.

Carefully go through my #1 again and make sure the box is checked to say "always do this" (or whatever is the exact verbiage). Once this is done you should be able to double click any picture and it should open immediately. Until this happens there is no point tackling the email situation.

If the above doesn't work out then run the JPG fix from here (following the instructions given):
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...

If this works it would be a good idea the run the JPE and JPEG fixes too, from the same website.

Right click any one of your photos and choose "Open With" from the list. Associate them with Windows photo viewer. If you do one they will all work and probably cure the email issue too.

If you reformatted and installed from a Windows disk then that is why your HP stuff has gone. You might be able to download some of it but much of the HP stuff is unimportant or can be replaced by something else.

Just to make sure I've got this right, you can double click a saved picture file on your computer and it opens quite normally - is that right?

Where are your actual picture files located - in Pictures?

What email are you using?

The files are located in my documents. When I double click on the folder it opens and instead of pictures showing there's icons of cameras. If I double click one of the camera icons or right click open nothing happens. If I go down to open with and click Windows picture viewer the picture comes up and I can view all the pictures individually one at a time using the arrows at the bottom of the screen. I can only view the pictures I can not send them to any locations or email them. All the HP programs for viewing pictures, video's, music are gone. I don't know if I can find the HP software and if so should I download it or not and would this correct the problem.
Thanks

If the said file fails to open then you must be right. I doubt anyone will be able to say exactly why it is corrupted. This can sometimes happen for a variety of reasons, bad shutdown, virus, a bad program or activity, and so forth. If it keeps happening then there is something seriously wrong. Otherwise you will probably be OK from now on.
