I keep my computer in top notch maintence, I use NOD32. Shut my machine off last night with no problems at all, turned it on this morning and Windows was freezing at the startup! Now Firefox crashes contantly, Internet Explorers adress bar is all glitchy, Opera says its missing a dll, MP3 files will not play (server execution failed?) even the spelling corrector is not underlining mispelled words in browser text boxes. I have cleaned the registry, no viruses, WHAT IS GOING ON!

I do not know what 'NOD32' is, but if it is a Norton version of bloatware, it will not be protecting you as well as you think it is. You have 2 main possibilities you will need to investigate first. One is some type of infection (Virus, Trojan, or other Malware) that got past your Antivirus program (a very real possibility) so download Malwarebytes (free version), install and run it. If you have something that slipped through, it will probably find it and be able to clean it out.
If it is not an infection (after trying above), Download Memtest (ISO version to burn CDr) and boot to it. Run through all tests to see if you have a bad memory stick. If any of the tests have errors, retry with one stick at a time to find the bad one.
Your symptoms are most consistent with these two problems, report back what you find for more advice.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.

EST Nod32: http://www.eset.com/

I got fed up and used system restore back to last night and it works perfectly fine now, I restored it to my last update before I shutdown which was a Defender update.

Seriously though, Nod finds everything you should check it out.
