You can't "force" your laptop to send a signal to an external monitor (and it's not called "booting to an external monitor" either).

You have to set it up in Windows. So if your laptop screen is broken you'll have to get it fixed or replaced.

It's only possible by disconnecting the laptop LCD flex cable from the laptop motherboard.

I'm surprised that the laptop can't be configured to send
the video to an external monitor at boot. The ancient Dell
laptop sitting next to me, made back in 1997, switches
between built-in screen only, external screen only, and
both screens by pressing the blue "Fn" (function) key and
the F8 key (with a blue rectangle representing the screen)
simultaneously. It remembers the mode it was in the next
time it boots. I turn it off and back on all the time, and
almost always leave it set to display on the external
monitor only.
