bought netbook winxp,installed win7 now netbo

Specs: Windows 18.12.2009
ok please help me guys im so frustrated im about to uninstall windows 7 because its still showing windows xp anyway i don't care about win7 it would be great but ok my husband bought this for me and the man said "i installed win 7 on it already" so he charged him 175 for the netbook and now i can't connect to the wifi around my house, yet my big laptop does. help me please.

go to control panel and open up device manager. Under network adapters make sure there are no "!" and that your network adapter is installed. If not then you need to install the driver. If driver is installed and you have a password to get on your router/network make sure the password is entered correctly on your netbook

i went under device manager and went under network adapters and there this is listed network adapters 802.11n wireless lan card and real tek rtl8102e/rtl8103e family pci-e fast ethernet iic(ndis 6.20) the only ! is under video controller. what now? i am using a wifi , in other words my lap top (regular hp) picks up signals around me, however this one won't.

do you think there is a way to take it back to its original state like remove win 7 and have it back to before the guy messed it up by putting windows xp on it. and y was i able to connect at starbucks and not at home? wierd im over this really bad can't afford to take it somewhere to have it fixed

If he did a clean install of Windows 7, he wiped everything off the computer. That means your computer isn't configured to work with your Wi-Fi. You'll gave have to connect to your Wi-Fi which involves choosing your wireless network (SSID) and typing a password.

If it works at starbucks then the wireless is ok. You just have to match the settings.
