Does the computer run fine otherwise?

Is your copy of Windows 7 legal?

Did Windows Update ever work correctly for you on that computer?

Do you ever clear the browser cache?

Try downloading and running Ccleaner Slim, cleaner module, from the link below.

Legal copy, managed to get past some issues by downloading updates 1 by 1 but some are still failing and when I try to download stuff off the net I'm getting crashed. Browser is clean as is a brand new pc, 1st day connecting it to net.

Is this a home built PC?

If home built, you may have driver or memory issues.

Try booting into Windows 7 Safe Mode with networking, by tapping F8 at start up. You should install an Antivirus program first. You can get infected almost immediately.

I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials. Free from the update site.

Managed to sort it out, the crashes were screwing up the update install files so once I went in and cleared out all the temp files it went a lot smoother, as for anti-virus went with avast but that's just personal preference. Shot for the assistance anyway, there were some driver issues.

Avast is one of the good virus checkers. I too use MSE but everyone has their own preferences.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
