This happened to me last month with my dell laptop it z common with hp as well as dell

Right click on Desktop main screen.
click properties
click settings
click advanced
click monitor
set your screen Refresh rate
( try at 40 Hertz or a step less as it wud be 60 hz earlier )
In case you are using graphic card, click on Graphic Card Control Panel..
(in control panel)
select change resolution
select Refresh rate , as per requirement of your system.
i think for ur dell laptop 40 hz will work....

enjy....:)

Please avoid text speak it is not good for technical stuff.

Are you saying that this fault is only there when using the laptop on batteries?
If not, what are the two situations you are describing?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I would think this is almost certainly a hardware fault, most likely the graphics module. There is a vague possibility that it is an issue with the screen itself or it's connections (between motherboard and screen, including connectors).

Hope that helps but as you have not responded you my #1 I will leave you to others.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Have you tried the Dell Diagnostics tool ? Start your laptop and tap F12 and then select the Diagnostics and let it complete. It will check the complete hardware and it will also check if the screen is nice.

Solving Technical queries is my passion and I just Love it !!
