Hello all..I'm fairly new at please be kind...

I have a PC currently running Windows 7...I recently downloaded the ISO file from Ubuntu's website for the 32-bit version of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. After the file downloaded, I went through the installment process after which it prompted me to reboot the computer. I rebooted, but when Ubuntu loaded, I got a blank screen and my monitor went into standby mode. I could hear sound as it loaded up (bongo drums), but I never got a visual, even after waiting about 15 minutes. Can someone help me please

Did you burn Ubuntu to a DVD, boot off the DVD, then install from a live session? When you installed it, did you overwrite Win7? Does a boot menu appear at startup?

I didn't burn it to DVD yet...I probably should do that...yes a boot menu appears at startup, gives me the option to load Windows or Ubuntu...when I select Ubuntu, the screen goes blank and my monitor says 'no signal'.

Burn the ISO to a dvd. Boot up with that dvd... and you will boot into Ubuntu (Linux) desktop and have full access to the hard drive...

Ubuntu will load itself into RAM and not onto the hard drive.
