Backup manager in Win 7

Acer / Aspire 5738-6969

Specs: Windows 7, 4 GB
I want to backup important folders and some programs on a memory card and USB flash drive also. The wizard for backup doesn't open the destination tab. I get an error message saying "You don't have permission for this." I know permissions for controls as Administrator are required to do a task. But all the permissions that I set before are grayed in the Security Dialog.
Can someone please help me to get all permissions, back to previous settings?

Not an answer to your problem but consider this, memory cards and flash drives are notorious for crashing and losing data. You would be much better off backing up to an external hard drive once you get your issue figured out.

Log in as administrator or 'run as administrator', just right click on the icon and select run as administrator.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

To add to Fingers, you may need to use right click to open a menu that has a "run as administrator" choice.
