Any trick to enter BIOS with USB keyboard?

Specs: Windows Vista
i have a dell e521
that has no p/s 2 only usb. now i need to get to the bios it will not responf when i press the f2 key. do you know another way to enter the bios?

Are you using the original keyboard? F2 appears to be the correct keystroke. You need to start tapping F2 as soon as you start the computer.

Make sure your keyboard is plugged into a REAR USB port DIRECTLY on your motherboard, do not use USB ports in the front, USB ports accessed through add-on cards, or USB ports on a hub connected to your computer. These other ports are not typically active (some front ones are but not all) until Windows is loaded with the drivers to make them work are loaded.

Try borrowing another keyboard.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

you may need to set the bios to allow legacy usb, and to set the bios to load drivers rather than the OS. setting the bios to default might work.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
