all installations are corrupt on Windows 7

Specs: Windows 7, 3GB
I'm using Windows 7, and it's been fine for the past year, but recently, every time I try to download and install a program, it tells me that the installation files are corrupt.
This has happened with Windows Live Essentials, Google Chrome, Java, to name a few. No matter what I try to install, the installation files are always "corrupt".

I have 2 other computers that run Windows XP, and it's the same with them now; everything I try to install says that the files are corrupt.

Any suggestions as to how I can solve this please ?

have you tried downloading from a different network?
ie from school or work or a cafe?
if the problem follows you then you know you have a problem with software on all 3 machines, if the issues does not follow you then you know it a network/modem/router issue or a virus/trojan that has infected all machines..

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
