All icons open with the same program.

Specs: Windows 7
I was trying to open a program and it didn't work so I tried "right click" then "open with.." then I chose a program to open it with. The next thing I know, all icons on the desktop have changed to that program I've set for only one file and none is opening porperly anymore. So please I wish to know how to make all icons work with the same program they initially were working with because now none is working.

Electronics, The link that Niteflyer provided in Reply #1 is for Windows Vista. It appears that you're using Windows 7 so go to the link below and under "Default Windows 7 File Extension Types":download the exe file association fix. Instructions are on the page.

Thank you Tufenuf and Nyteflyer. The support you provided was very helpful indeed.
Tufenuf, I never backed up. So if I try backing up now(which is probably too late), will it save all those messed up stuff? Because if does then I guess restoring will never work right??
