Please explain better.
Are you using 'Save As' and choosing the folder you want to save the file in?
There is nothing wrong with copy/paste or cut/paste to move a file to a folder/another folder.
Have you tried restarting the machine? Sometimes when flaky things begin to happen, a simple restart will set things right again.
If that does not help, you can try a System Restore to a date before the apparent change happened and follow that with a scan with Malwarebytes (to be sure that malware did not cause the corruption to a system file). The system restore will not effect your personal files, but it will roll back system files and the registry to an earlier state. The only other things effected will be any updates or install since that date will probably need to be redone.
Post back more details with results from above for more help.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Safest bet is to use Copy/Paste. If that works you can always delete the unwanted items later.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
