Specs: Windows 7
I have an acer extensa 4420 and it had vista on it but after I switched to Win7 the mic stopped working. Any solutions to this. I have tried both sound settings and installing audio driver but keep getting errors. Can somebody help me with this?

Did you make sure that the driver is windows 7 compatible? Many Vista drivers work with 7, but not all. You Mic SHOULD be covered with the sound driver as I can see not reason for a separate mic driver, but look. Did you upgrade your motherboard drivers also? That might help.

I haven't upgraded the motherboard drivers but shouldn't they have been upgraded when Win7 installation was performed?
Any hint where I can get these drivers?

No. You will need to go to Acer's website, look for Support, Downloads, Drivers, Windows 7 compatible (note if 32bit or 64bit)
