Acer laptop Keyboard not working

Specs: Windows 7
Hello, I have an Acer laptop running on Windows 7 and the other day I spilled something on it while cooking. After cleaning it off (just with a cloth) most of the keys wouldn't work. The ones that did didn't wok correctly, i.e 'u' would be 'bu' and so on. The next day, none of the keys worked. I cleaned it with hand sanitizer, and some worked, but again there were messed up 'double keys.' It now seems that they are almost all dissasociated from their original keys. Like, F9 is now spacebar, 7 is enter, etc.

I've already restored the computer to factory settings the way it was when I bought it, but its the same. How do you reset the keys?

Your problem is that the contacts on the underside are not clean and the small currents that make the contacts now are bleeding between contacts and causing unexpected results like the double entrys and changed entrys. The only way to fix this is to remove the battery, disassemble the lower computer parts, remove the keyboard and either clean all of the contacts and other sticky surfaces carefully with alcohol, or replace the keyboard and clean all other sticky surfaces. For MOST, this is a job for a professional. Tell him EXCATLY what happened so he knows what the job entails. This will probably not be an inexpensive repair and if it were an older machine it might not pay, but for a fairly new machine that otherwise works well, it probably pays.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
