November 27, 2015 at 14:55:57
Specs: Windows 7 Premium Home, Intel (R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz
my Acer Aspire E1-571, Windows 7 laptop always freeze when I get to the part to enter my password. I have done the thing were you take the battery out and back in. Safe mode works fine, I've deleted all downloaded files or applications from past week (before this happend) and other non-useful applications. I need to get this fixed quickly since j do most of my school work on it.

You could run System Restore to a date just before this happened. Unlike factory restore it will not remove any of your own stuff:

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

✔ Best Answer
Because your computer runs in safe mode this would indicate a software glitch somewhere, maybe a hidden non-essential startup item.

You say you deleted downloaded files and non-useful applications from the last week which would seem that something that was downloaded has probably caused this.

Have you tried going into safe mode with networking, downloading, installing and running an antimalware application such as Malwarebytes Antimalware free version?

You say it doesn't let you do System Restore. Do you mean you have no restore points or does it come up with an error message when you try? Let us know exactly what happens. It can also be run from Safe Mode.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Press F8 as the system boots up. You "ought" to see dos style menu screen which lists a few options. Safe-mode, normal, etc. and also last known good config. You may have to press F8 a few times; and you do so after the initial Acer "splash screen".

If you can get into that menu try safe-mode first; and if successful booting into that, then go online to:

http://www.tweaking.com

Download the utility. Be careful not to download anything else; and decline to proffered scan at the top of the page...

The utility is safe to use; and will check the system out fully and repair anything it finds amiss - if it can...
