Specs: Windows 7
My acer aspire v5 does not play sound and keeps freezing, especially the folders. Whenever I open the control panel, file explorer etc., it wont open. When I want to listen to anything, there is no sound, its saying the audio service is not running.

And this from he Acer site may be of help too...

And the full manual is here s a download. It covers all aspects of recovery routines...

Remember that a factory reset/recovery will erase "all" your personal files in the process. So if possible... First copy all the "stuff" you wouldn't wish to lose to extrrnal media. Typically dvd, and if possible an external hard drive too. Verify/check the copies are accessible too on at least one other working system then label suitably and put them somewhere safe. You can restore them to system later.

And develop the habit of regularly copying " your stuff" to external storage; just in-case you a problem with your Acer that puts your files at risk...

And if you haven't already made the recommended recovery disk set, do so once the system is working properly again; label and keep them safe. Sadly few bother either to make the disk set, nor safeguard personal files as above - until it's too late...

Also make a password reset disk too... Surprising just how useful it can be...
