What does the user manual say?

I see they want $99 to answer one question....nice.

You probably have the incorrect battery type or possibly installed incorrectly. That's in the user manual. You may need the service manual...

Was the battery checked with a meter?

Make sure it has the same voltage output as the original battery.
According to Acer Global you need battery model AK.006BT.019
The rating for this battery is 11.1V with a capacity of 4400mAh.

Some websites say you can use other batteries with a output voltage of 14.8V.
But that's doesn't have to be true since Acer doesn't verify the info.
So it might work or it might not.
