Hello all. I was googling around to try to fix my problem and I found this website so I hope you guys can help. I was trying to open a .lnk file earlier, and I picked a setup installer program to open it. Then afterwards, all of my icons for all of my desktop icons changed to the setup program's icon. Every time I tried to open an application file, it tried to use the setup program. So after messing around with the default programs, I changed the default program from the setup installer, to Mozilla Firefox, but I still have the same problem. My computer tries to open everything with Firefox. How do I undo this? It used to be normal, where all programs would just use themselves, but now I don't know how it change it back.

First thing to try is a System Restore to a pint before this happened.

How do I do a system restore and what exactly will it do? I haven't ever set a restore point manually that I'm aware of.

I figured out how to do a system restore to an earlier point, so thank you very much for that suggestion to do so. It's all fixed now.
