accidentally deleted MY Documents from window

Specs: Windows 7
I just got a new, hp with windows seven. I put a shortcut icon on the desktop for "MY Documents" and then I accidentally deleted it. But now I can't access My Documents at all, or pictures, or video, or any of it. When I try to open it in the start-up menue, or right-click to do a, "send to" nothing happens. What can I do to recover this? Also, I tried doing a system restore, but it failed to go through.

First of all, if you haven't since emptied the recycle bin you can restore the shortcut to the Documents folder.

If you performed an unsuccessful restore you should go back and undo it.

Clicking on the start orb in the lower left corner of your screen should show you a link to your documents folder.

If you managed to create the shortcut once, I don't understand why you can't do it again.

The icon on the desktop is just a shortcut. I doubt you actually deleted the documents folder.

Does not appear this was a shortcut but a drag and drop.
Recycle bin is your best option right now.

Good time to consider getting yourself on a backup-the-computer routine.
