Alright so I recently have been getting this error when turning on my computer "A disk read error occurred Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart" and it continues every time I restart. I have read all over the internet on different methods of fixing this and none have worked. Also I would rather not have to loose all my information on my harddrive since I had just got this system up and running properly and have a lot of school information on here, any information would be grand!

1) I cannot get to f8 screen
2) I do not have a win 7 disk on me since I'm at college and my stuff is back home

Press F8 immediately upon the BIOS splashscreen. Then go to Safe Mode and do a chkdsk /r. Hopefully your data is backed up, as this can be destructive. If not, you can copy data in SM also, or use a live CD to do so.
