Would it be possible to create a browser with html5 support?

Specs: Windows For Workgroups 3.11a
Lately I've been growing fond of my old WFW3.11a computer again.

Would it be possible to create myself a browser with html5 and latest ssl support? Or has someone attempted this before?

Or maybe port an existing one

Browsers which support HTML5 & SSL already exist - - - - it's the various websites that need to get up to date with support, not the web browsers.

Sure. You can create a browser for Windows 3.11 which will support HTML 5. This supposes that you are a good enough programmer - I can't see anyone else devoting their time to this due to lack of demand.

@phil22 Do they? I've been scoping the web and can't seem to find any browser supporting anything higher then html4

@ijack I know my way around, I also know that it's a longterm project browsers are pretty time consuming
