Mouse in Win 3.1 and WsWin

February 12, 2012 at 10:23:32
Specs: Windows XP, Pentium 4 / 520MB
I have a Dell GX270 Optiplex which is partitioned: 2GB with Dos 6.2 and Win 3.1 [used for Wordstar [WS] / Foxbase and Wordstar for Windows [WsWin]]. 38 GB used for Windows XP.

I attempted to access WsWin files a few days ago and found that the Mouse/cursor was dysfunctional - the Cursor just kept scrolling up and down in the middle of the screen.

No problems using Dos files [Wordstar/ Foxbase] or the Mouse in the XP partition.

I am therefore unable to access/print some 100+ files in WsWin.

Any suggestions to deal with this problem will be appreciated.

IVO

I believe that I have Cutemouse installed when the computer starts and installs the software in the Dos partition.

However this software has been working satisfactorily for perhaps 10 years... It is only in the last week [or two] that this problem has arisen.

I have attempted to reinstall win 3.1 from the diskettes that I have and also the Wswin software.

Have considered perhaps modifying the Autoexec.bat and Config.sys from 'research' I have made on the Internet.

However I have posted my problem in case some on recognises this problem and has the solution....
