How to change windows file extension to view or modify in clipboard of Windows 3.1.
Need to modify SYSTEM.INI file and I do not know how to access that file. It says to use the file extension .clp, but not sure how to do that. I can see System.INI but how do I get the extension changed to view or modify it in the clipboard?

"You can open the ini file with notepad."

Agreed. Or with any "generic" text-editor such as Edit from MS-DOS (DOS 5 or above).

Always make a copy of the file (to something like system.old or system.001) before working on it---just in case something goes horribly wrong.
