Are there any tools or methods for troubleshooting an unexpected shutdown? I am not seeing much in the event log.

The only thing I see is:

Source: Kernel-Power
Event ID: 41

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Thank you,

That's what has to say about it. You really have to go through the system to see what's causing it. You might want to run anti malware from
or hijack this. Post the hijack this log if necessary.

Sounds like a hardware issue to me. If it was a software issue, I would expect a bluescreen and a memory dump. If it's a brand name server, use the diagnostic tools designed for it.
