new to server 2008

Specs: Windows XP
i have a small business in which i have a webserver setup. i am not able to get it online. The guy that set it up is unreachable and I don't know what to do. I have a the nic card of the server running through a switch which is going through the router to the modem. What should my ip adress for the NIC be and What about the dns server? I believe to was 192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0/192.168.1.254 DNS 127.0.0.1 Secondary 192.168.1.254.
When I type 192.168.1.254 I get a screen with ISS 7 and I have no idea what this is. Can anyone help me?

try to use the http:\\192.168.1.2 which is assigned to your NIC from your router, Not 192.168.1.254 which i believe it is a gateway.

Why are you having to review your network settings? Did you change something?
Can you access your web server internally?

There is a lot to hosting your own web server. Highly advise you change nothing until you understand exactly what is not working.
