Cannot create new child domain in Active dire

March 10, 2011 at 00:20:33
Specs: Windows 2008 server, core2Duo, 2GB RAM

I'm not able to create a child domain within the parent domain. Everytime I try to do this it says the there is already one Domain existing you have to uninstall it before creating any new domain.

Are you talking about a DNS domain or an Active Directory one? And how are you trying to create the domain?

Sounds like you are trying to get one server to be a domain controller for more than one active directory domain. The only way this can be done is if you install a virtual machine, such as VirtualPC or VirtualBox, and install Server 2008 on that. This is only recommended for testing or learning purposes, not in a production environment.
