Windows server 2008. Every Wed. morning after the Tues. evening MS Updates, the server hangs on reboot with "press f1 to continue" . How can I fix this?
the F1 to continue during post usually means that setting in the bios needs setting correctly, i have seen this when 1) keyboard is not detected
2) mouse is not detected
3) a floppy drive is enabled in bios when no floppy drive is installedon my machine when i updated the bios it had enabled drive B which does exist and was a floppy drive, this caused my machine to hang during post and required F1 to continue.
You can also change a setting which is something like "Continue booting on error" on my motherboards bios i have the option to "require the user to press F1 on error" or ignore the error state and continue.
Hope this helps
This can also be an indication the cmos battery needs to be replaced on the mainboard. Answers are only as good as the information you provide.
