Windows Server 2003 DHCP reservation and other problem

June 27, 2012 at 14:49:47
Specs: Windows Server 2003
I'm using a Win server 2003 with DHCP service. I'm getting a BAD ADDRESS line in the dhcp list, with a "this address is already in use" description. My second problem is:
When I'm using the IP reservation 2 computer can't get the reserved address, Those are win 7. The working computers are xp and 2k. They work properly. If anyone can help I would be grateful.

what is your dhcp scope range?
what ips in this range have you reserved?

how did you reserve the ips for the win7 pcs?

no other dhcp servers on the network?

what is your dhcp scope range?

- range: 30-239
- (240-254 printer IP (not using dhcp)
- but i will decrease the range after i reserved an IP for every pcs.

what ips in this range have you reserved?

- which ips got the pcs from the dhcp server

how did you reserve the ips for the win7 pcs?

- Binden to mac address. (as the xp and 2k pcs.

no other dhcp servers on the network?

- there are other souters but they can't run dhcp service

"but i will decrease the range after i reserved an IP for every pcs."

why would you do that? a reserved ip is using dhcp. That ip that you bound to the mac address must remain in the dhcp scope.

If you are removing them it explains why the pcs are not getting that ip.
