Solved windows 2003 server cycles throught booting

January 12, 2014 at 10:54:48
Specs: Windows 7
On starting the server the system continuously cycles through rebooting and never going all the way to achieve starting up.

I have tried to use the function of reboot to the last configuration but that doesn't work. All I want to do is pull some accounting files off.

✔ Best Answer
-turn off the unit and if you have more than 1 ram module, remove the one closest to the cpu and try booting. You can also try pulling out all of the ram modules but one and see if it still cycles. If you just need the files, remove the hard drive and attach it to a working system and recover the file(s). OR you could find a bootable version of linux on cd or a usb stick, boot up to linux o/s and retrieve the data.

To err is human but to really screw things up, you need a computer!
