win7 cant connect or share files with win2003

Specs: Windows 7, xeon
hello sir,
m tushar from india.
i have 1 Q. i have laptop with window7 os. also having server pc with win2003R2 os.
both are in the network, i can access laptop via server pc, but at the time of connecting server via laptop, the message shows " wrong username, password" were i inserted right username password. TCP IP is also right, i can connect remotely to the server 2003 via win7 laptop, can ping also from laptop to server, bt the problem is on time of connecting server 2003.

Sounds like the computer is not joined to the Domain. If this is the case you must specify the domain before your user name so that it does not try to use local credentials.

YOURDOMAIN/YOURLOGINNAME

Note the slash. You must have a slash between the domain name and your user name.

The best solution is to simply join your computer to the domain.
