What local group should users be in?

Specs: Windows XP
I have a LAN with a server running windows server 2003. Currently all the users are in the local administrators group but I would like to change that so that no one can install any software or system settings. What local group do you recommend a user be in (Restricted user, Standard User, ...)?

XP does not have restricted user, standard user, etc. They should just be in the group Users

hello wanderer,
I have a similar setting as stated by Boesiii, when i change them to user group one of the client application running on some workstations will not connect to the server while on few of the system it connects. how do i resolve this?

what group are they in when they all work?
name of the application?
you have enough licenses for the app?

they are in the power user group of the local workstation system, the application is earlyon cafecentra client, yes i have enough license
