unable to install windows server 2003

Specs: server 2003, unknown/ 1gb
hp proliant server ml330 g3 trying to reinstall windows 2003 server get an error message telling me no hard drive is found or detected is this because its a server i have to do something different i got the server from a friend he doesnt know the password and i would like to learn about server's im in a college class for networks and trying to learn as much as i can unable to get this machine going please feel free to offer suggestions

The thing is that probably the server isn't recognizing the HDD, if the HDD is SCSI or even SATA you have to provide the drivers when the installation starts, look at the bottom of the screen at the very beginning phase, then press F6. In order to do that you have to put the drivers in a 3 1/2 Floppy Disc.

okay but which drivers do i need to download in order to support the scsi or raid drive configuration im confused and thats going to be fun because i no longer have any computers that have floppy disk drives installed is there anyway around this can i use a usb thumb drive or cd rom drive possibly

You would create a slipsteamed cd that includes the drivers.
You would identify the hardware and get the drivers for that hardware.
