SHortcut active directory

Specs: Windows Server 2003
I have one list folder under OU in Active directory. this list folder contain distribution list. I have to give one user access to only that "list" folder not the whole OU. That user is using Windows XP. Every time she wants to create some entry I have to giver her whole access of server which i dont want is there any way i can create a shortcut on her personal computer so she can just have access to that speciific folder in AD

Maybe it's me, but I'm not sure what you are asking. You only want her to have access to the distribution list? Do you mean a distribution group in AD. Sorry, I'm confused.

Either way, you most certainly do not need to give her access to an entire server. Clarify exactly what you want to do but you can create an OU and delegate control of that OU to just her, to a group or to pretty much anything you want and she will only be able to control what happens in that OU.

Then again, that may not even be what you are after.

I'll give it a shot, although I'm not so sure either...

I'm guessing you want to give access to a user to be able to add users, computer etc in the AD, am I right? And you want to limit this user to be able to add within a specific OU, but not in the above OU's, right?

As far as I know this isn't possible. To my knowledge you either have permission to edit the AD, or you don't.

Edit: I'm stupid. Of course it's possible, and Glen gave the answer above. *duh*
