Not sure from wich computer to run forestprep and domainprep from??

here is setup of LAN:
Win2003 DC and an additional Win2003 DC, then a member Win2003 Server that will be the exchange 2003 mail server, and xp clients.

do i put the exchange server 2003 disc into the Win2003 DC and run setup /forestprep and /domainprep?? and then once that is done, remove the exchange 2003 disc and put it in the 2003 member server to install exchange?

or do i do all the disc work from one computer, the member server that i want exchange server installed on? if so; how does forestprep and domainprep do the AD changes on the DC if this is the way to install??

hey wanderer, i read the article, thanks

so i am going to put the cd in the DC and run FORESTPREP, and then once that is finished and replicated, i will remove the disc and put it in the member server and this will run DOMAINPREP and the exch 2003 install.

correct me if i am wrong, but do it fast, i am on my way to begin this. thanks

Run domain prep on a server with access to the infrastructure master or a dc running that role.

i ran /forestprep from DC, and then ran /domainprep from the computer that i will be putting exchange server on, then followed that with the install.

I see 2 new groups created for exchange on the DC.
