Windows 2003 does not support SATA controllers out of the box.
Therefore, you have to use the driver, that came with your mainboard, or you have to download the driver from the internet.
Then copy the driver to a floppy disk.
During installation of windows 2003, press F6, when the system asks, if you need to provide additional storage drivers.

The server has one IDE drive and 2 SATA drives. The IDE is set to Auto and the SATA are set to off. I assume the OS would attempt to load onto the IDE if it is set to Auto and the SATA's are set to off ?

Maybe !?!

Should the IDE drive be used as the system drive, where you will install the server 2003?
