Server keeps crashing or does not boot up.

July 22, 2012 at 20:40:02
Specs: Windows XP, 2
I am not that knowledgeable about servers but it has suddenly become my responsibility for a short while to look after them since I am the most computer literate person there.

These are the specifications:

HP Proliant ML350 G5 5140 2.33GB DC Server
3 – 72GB SAS 10K RPM 2.5in Hot Plug Drives
2GB FBD PC2-5300 (2X1GB kit)
Windows Server STD 2003 R2

Last error message we had was:
Instruction at 0x005104df reference memory at 0x03d21004
Memory could not read

Server used to just crash a lot but now it does not even boot up. Personally I would just format the whole thing and reinstall but it seems like some of the original software CDs have been lost over the years. So I might not be able to completely restore it that way.

I do not know if it is a software or hardware problem at the moment.
Thank you for any help.

Sounds like a hardware problem. Get a professional to look at it. If this is important to your business then you don't want to waste time letting unskilled people play with it.
