Server 2003 - Network Discovery in Turned Off

September 18, 2011 at 12:48:16
Specs: Server 2003, 2.27 GHZ and 2.26 GHZ/12 GB
I am attempting to map a network drive for a user. I get the message "Network Discovery is turned off." I am unable to turn it on in Control Panel. Other users including myself do not have Network Discovery turned on and there is no problem mapping a network drive on those logins. What could be different for this user?

Thanks, Wanderer. I'm just now getting back to checking answers to my question. I had already solved the problem by using an existing batch file to map the drives. I should have been clearer on my question. The problem was on a terminal server connection. The PC itself had no problems. Later, I will figure out why I had to run a script to map the drives. I just need to step through the batch file and see what step fixed it.

Thanks for responding.
