Specs: Server 2003
Hi all

I am currently running 3 Servers

2003 as DC and data , SAP application server (server 2003) and a Ubuntu Zimbra mail server (POP3 free version)

I would like to move the organization to Exchange instead of the free linux Zimbra

Now the question is if its OK (and recommended) to run a server 2008+Exchange 2010 as a member server on the existing domain if the DC is 2003. does the Active Directory will be easy accessible to the 2008 running exchange 2010?

Do i need to do anything special when adding the server 2008 to the existing domain (as a member server)?

should i do it before or after installing exchange 2010 on the 2008?

Another unrelated question that i have is how Exchange 2010 behive with large mailboxes (4-8GB)?

Running Exchange on 2008 with a 2003 DC is fine.

Do you need to do anything special to add a 2008 member server to a 2003 domain? No. You add it just like any other computer.

Add the computer to the domain before installing Exchange.
