Hi
I wonder if someone could help me please.

I've seen lots about this on the net but still cannot get my ntbackup to run
unmanaged.

I've had a look at this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314844

Before I started my scheduled task was this

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbackup.exe backup
"@C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\
Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\data\Daily.bks" /n "Media created 21/10/2010 at
23:56" /d "Daily" /v:yes /r:no /rs:no /hc:on /m normal /j "Daily" /l:s /p
"4mm DDS"

Using the article above i've now got this

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbackup.exe backup
"@C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\
Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup
\data\Daily.bks" /d "Daily" /v:yes /r:no /rs:no /hc:on
/m normal /j "Daily" /l:s /p "4mm DDS" /um

However, it still wont work. This is the error message.

Can anyone guide me please?

Thanks
DKB

take the exe off the ntbackup.exe
though the problem from cmd windows post is the \m is being listed separate and as a command which generates the "bad command" message.

Hi
I've done that so its now

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbackup backup"@C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\NTBackup\data\Daily.bks" /d "Daily" /v:yes /r:no /rs:no /hc:on /m normal /j "Daily" /l:s /p "4mm DDS" /um

However, it starts then closes down NTBackup then does nothing else.

look at the backup error log [tools/report] and post the errors.
did you add the tape to the storage media?

It says

Command Line Problem: A valid backup operation was not specified on the command line.

Does this mean the /d "Daily" and /J "Daily" or the Daily.bks are incorrect.

backup"@

Need a space between backup and " which is why you got the invalid command

backup "@
