Specs: XP SP3, Any
Hi

Within Active Directory environment (win2003 server) I have got 11 domains users.

A new network printer Samsung CLX-6210FX installed on the server 2003 and shared

Samsung Printer > Properties > Security tab for the group “Everyone “ set as below

Although “ Everyone “ group has been given permission for print only , why would a domain user still be able to change the color as in the snap shot below

Thanks

Because the driver isn't restricted. A user that is allowed to print also has the right to change options, such as duplex printing, color printing etc.

You need accounting on the printer set up. Call Samsung and ask them about restricting color access for users, or install another driver that doesn't have the color option, for example a black n white samsung driver and see if that works. It may not be kosher but it works.
