Printers not printing after server change

Microsoft Windows server 2003 enterprise
May 4, 2010 at 14:15:04
Specs: Server 2003
I recently setup a second server to act as my print server. Both machines are running Server 2003. They are both still up and working right now. On the original print server, all printers show as Ready and are able to print.

On the new server, some printers will show offline if I enable SNMP (this is an issue with Server 2003 from what I've found). I have 2 printers a Savin 2522 and an HP 3700 that if I disable SNMP they show as ready, but fail to print. I have tried a test page from the server itself and it queues, but then times out and says there was an error. I have reinstalled the Savin on its TCP/IP port and it always shows ready, but will not print.

I can remote to the original print server where these printers still also reside and I can to these printers just fine.

I haven't been able to find anything online for this. Any help is greatly appreciated!

You compared all settings to be exactly the same between the working and none working printing?
No rights restrictions on the new server? Everyone full control?

When I first migrated I used PrintMigrator to hopefully reduce any chance of things like this.

I looked and both installs of the printer have the exact same rights, the ports appear to be configured the same.

I log onto the server as admin and still fail to print.

I would suggest disabling one of the working print queues and then see if the nonworking one works.
Give it a few minutes between stopping the one and starting the other since these processes can take a bit of time to stop.

Thanks for the suggestion. I removed it from the original server and tried on the new server this morning with the same luck.

I've since reinstalled on the original server to get printing functionality back for that office.

I'll keep plugging away. Thanks for the suggestions and any futures!
